I’ve started what I hope will be a series of illustrations that show some of the UK’s best looking classic cinema buildings from the past. These buildings often find alternative use, but many of them have long since been demolished and there are vanishing amounts of these old picture houses left in the country. I’ve started with the former Odeon cinema in Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham. Thankfully this one is still around today and is still operating as a cinema, albeit under a different name. Here are a couple of snaps of this drawing’s progress so far. Line work is complete and I’m going to give it a splash of colour.
