I just wanted to share this fun little map I created for Brussels Airlines. It’s for their in flight magazine ‘b’inspired’ and it is supposed to depict a road trip through Shenandoah National Park in the eastern United States. I had a lot of fun with it and loved doing the small spots of the various locations along the route. It was one of those jobs that was actually quite educational for me and I loved finding out about the national park and some of the history and culture of this part of the United States.
Like I said in my last post about my Selfridges drawing, It is fun to have the opportunity to hold back a little on the detail, mainly due to the client’s requests and the time scale of the work. As you might have guessed, I usually love creating very intricate line drawings and try to include a lot of small details and to some extent I still was able to do this on some of the spot illustrations on the map. Overall though, the scale of this piece meant that I had to work in a more loose and more simple style and I found it to be quite a fun and laid back project because of that. I hope you like it!
